Aarhus, 28 August to 1 September 2010
The 30th NAFA Film Festival film screenings will cover two days (and possibly 1-2 evenings). NAFA screens ethnographic and documentary films with an emphasis on anthropological relevance in a wide sense. There are no rules as to year of release, the only rule being that films should not have been previously submitted to a NAFA festival. NAFA awards no prizes and charges no entry fee. The screenings will consist of films selected by a selection committee comprised of the following NAFA members, who are all anthropologists and filmmakers: Petia Mankova (Tromsoe), Linda Jonsen Engberg (Aarhus), Johannes Sjöberg (Manchester), Jouko Aaltonen (Helsinki), and Peter I. Crawford. Please note that although the festival is held in conjunction with the symposium Perceiving Children. The Visual Anthropology of Childhood, this does NOT mean that only films on childhood are accepted! Filmmakers are kindly requested to submit their films to the film selection committee chairman at the following address:
