The curator of Algeria after 1954 - cinematic reflexions
(*1943) is a professor of film studies at Université 3 in Algiers and
heads the Study Center of El Khabar, Algeria's largest daily newspaper. Ahmed Bedjaoui was a founding member of both the Cinémathèque Algérienne and the Algerian League for Human Rights. He has also served as vice president of the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean and president of the Algerian Film Fund.

Graduate of the'Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies" (IDHEC - Paris) and holder of a PhD in American Literature and Cinema, Ahmed BEDJAOUI is the Artistic Director of the Algiers Film Festival and President of the Algerian Film Fund. He is a University Professor at the Faculty of Communication of Algiers 3 University. Ahmed Bedjaoui has written many books including "Images et visages" ; "Cinéma et guerre de libération, des batailles d'images", "Littérature et cinémas arabes" ; "La Guerre d'Algérie dans le cinéma mondial" ; "Le cinéma à son âge d'or'' and "La Saga de la création de la cinémathèque algérienne (1965-1969)". In 2016, he received in France the title of Officer for Arts and Letters. In 2015 he was awarded the UNESCO Federico Fellini Medal for services rendered to the cinematographic culture throughout the world.
In 2019, he is President of the Feature film jury at 26th FESPACO, Ouaga, Burkina Faso.
