The REX band of Finchaffen in the Morobe province of Papua New Guinea was a sensational reggae group of the 1990s releasing many hit albums with Pacific Gold Studios (PGS).

They first attracted the attention of PGS with a simple demo tape sent all the way from Finchaffen and it simply blew the engineers away.  The arrangement was quickly made and the REX band found themselves inside the studios kicking out their unique blend of reggae that set them apart from other acts-Rex captured PNG music fans and shredded the PNG TOP 20 away with hits such as-Sengu ge fo, Swit Finch and many more.

Their unique sound brought them all the way to Japan in the mid 90s where they performed in Tokyo and other cities.  They were truly a remarkable and talented group whose distinct sounds were simply ahead of other local reggae artists of the 90s.
