Carlos, a Spanish student, arrives in Africa looking for Souli, a renowned African author who has chosen to live incognito in a remote fishing village. Souli is the final keeper of an ancient oral tale which the young Spaniard hopes to transcribe. In his efforts to mingle with the community Carlos unwittingly becomes the instrument in a vendetta between the people whose path he crosses : Yann, the lobster collector, Mona, a French woman who runs a local craft workshop and Abi, a young African woman who dreams of discovering Europe. From his apparent naivety will come the breakdown of the social stability and harmony in the village.
