This new collection investigates on the ground, in four different regions of Africa, and sheds light on some of the reasons Africa today has come to a standstill or, at best, is suffering from the effects of globalisation (instead of benefiting from it).

Each film concentrates on the specific situation of a region/country and highlights the main issues and problem areas. We are given valuable insight thanks to those who play an active part : NGO representatives, local politicians, EU representatives, financial advisors, doctors, aid workers and the African people themselves. For a wider appreciation of the picture, the "current" situation is set, each time, within the historical and geopolitical context specific to the region.
These elements combine, like two sides of the same coin, to offer a better view of Africa today and demonstrate that the situation has become more difficult than it had been 20 years ago. Nevertheless, the films also offer reasons to hope for improvement in the future.

A collection of four investigative reports on Africa in the 21st century.
