Kandia, aka "The Manding Golden Voice", is the nickname given to Guinean praisesinger Ibrahima Sory Kouyaté (19331977), the first iconic singer of independent Africa. To tell the story of this singing legend, I wanted his son Kaabi who lives in France to come to Guinea and travel back on the footsteps of Kandia, to find the places and meet witnesses of his time to know who the man behind the golden voice legend was.
