Zukiswa Wanner is the author of the novels K.Sello Duiker shortlisted The Madams (Oshun, 2006), Behind Every Successful Man (Kwela, 2008), Commonwealth and Herman Charles Bosman Award shortlisted Men of the South (Kwela, 2010) and London Cape Town Joburg (2014). Maid in SA: 30 Ways to Leave Your Madam (Jacana, 2013) marked her foray into nonfiction satire. Wanner is the author of two children's books, Jama Loves Bananas (Jacana, 2012) and Refilwe (Jacana, 2014). As editor, she is responsible for Campaign for Education's 2008 publication The Big Read which included contributors such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Queen Rania. She co-edited the African-Asian short story anthology Behind the Shadows (2012) with Indian author and editor, Rohini Chowdhury.



Wanner also co-authored A Prisoner's Home (2010), a biography on the first Mandela house 8115 Vilakazi Street with the late award-winning South African photographer Alf Kumalo
